Rumors Reported Halo Wouldn’t Re-Open, But Work is Still In Progress

haloBack in July 2015, Bryan-College Station’s gay bar Halo was consumed by flames, burning the the city’s top dance bar where it could not be used.

Halo, smack dab in the middle of the hometown of Texas A&M attracted a younger mostly gay crowed and featured regular shows and DJs from Austin and Houston. The multi-level bar featured an 11 screen video lounge, bar and dance club with pool tables.

The flames caused fire damage to the second floor which had a dance floor and bar and smoke and water damage throughout the building.

Now, more than five months after the fire, rumors are circulating that the bar will not re-open, but the club’s facebook page tells a different story.

“Happy New Year!   Good riddance 2015, 2016 will be our best year yet!   See you all soon!” A post on December 31 announced on the club’s Facebook page.

Five days earlier the bar posted “A new year is coming and so is a new Halo….Work is already underway. The new roof is just the start!”

The concern from former customers came after nothing was posted on the Facebook page since September until late last month.

Now it looks as if the bar is continuing its renovation process … but no date has been announced for the club to re-open.
